This has been quite the year, and actually a refreshing one, unlike 2016 (yes I still remember the nightmare of 2016). I’m grateful to still be alive, in great health and most of all grateful to have accomplished a few things I have been working on for a long time.
In 2017 I finally got my first apartment, graduated college, started my YouTube channel , which by the way is something I NEVER thought I would ever do. Starting a YouTube channel is free and I decided to spend money on starting a blog instead of doing YouTube so that’s how much I thought I would never have started a channel. My reason was simple , I am EXTREMELY shy, you may think girl I’m shy too but no my shyness is out of this world, so I never thought I’d be sitting around talking to a camera and actually love it; but beautiful things happen outside of your comfort zone. In 2017 I celebrated my first year of blogging. Now this is something I saw myself doing and I’ve wanted to do for the past 10 years. I’ve been MIA from the blog lately, I’ve been placing so much focus on my YouTube channel as I have broken barriers with this blog that I never thought would happen . I have over 50 blog posts, which by the way is wild because I had about 5 things I knew for sure I wanted to blog about when I first started and I have had over 3700 readers of the blog in the last year! Say what!? My blog!? 3700 people!? Never in my wildest dreams!
My goal for 2018 is to be more active on the blog while growing my YouTube channel and social media, all while working a 40 hour work week. Sounds like a tall order but I’m extremely motivated and ready to take on that challenge.
The most beautiful thing I think happened to me in 2017 was my new found happiness and change in mindset. I’m talking gushing, glowing happiness that is NOT attached to anyone or anything, I’m just truly happy being me, caring for and loving on myself a lot more. Learning that not everything deserves my reaction and the need to truly protect my peace. That my friends, feels so incredibly amazing!
My change in mindset came from the spirit of this beautiful soul, fellow Youtuber, Jordan Cheyenne. If you aren’t following her, you really should. She’s a badass single mom who’s really uplifting and encouraging. Being a single parent is DIFFICULT and she never complains she just does the damn thing and handles her business like a true girl boss. The content on her channel is super uplifting you can’t help but have a change in the way you think. She released an ebook “Reshaping your Reality” which I found to be life changing. No she has no clue I’m including her in this post but she has truly made an impact on my life this year, so I felt the need to mention her. (Also as women we need to acknowledge other women who inspire us, hello!).
I’m just truly grateful to be alive, healthy and happy in my right mind. 2017 it’s been real, I’m so excited for what 2018 has for me. What’s one thing you’re grateful for in 2017? Leave that in the comments and until next time loves, peace and blessings.
