It’s definitely getting warmer outside (yay!) It’s time to ditch those winter coats and bring on the summer. Well, not so fast, there are a few things I consider essential summer prep products/ideas. Here are a few things I’ve been doing/ purchasing in preparation for summer.

Sunscreen- it is very important to protect your skin and sunscreen helps with that. My favorite is the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen, SPF 55.

Shades/ Sunglasses- I personally like aviator sunglasses for the shape of my face. You can find which type of sunglasses best suits the shape of your face by going to a sunglasses retailer ( I used sunglasses hut)  and having a customer service rep assist you.  carry really cute sunglasses, you can save on your purchase by using discount code RLWA20.

Mattifying primer- If you wear make up and have oily skin like I do, then you need a mattifying primer, my favorite high end mattifying primer is the Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primer  and from the drug store I find the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer to be everything.

Matte foundation- A matte foundation is also needed if you have oily skin, my all time favorite, without second thought is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation, and I’m in the shade 360 Mocha. I’ve had no desire to even try a high end matte foundation because Maybelline worked magic with this one, I love, love, love this foundation.

Insect repellent- Insects seem to love me in the summer, so I always ensure I have some insect repellent on hand. Normally I use the OFF! unscented Insect Repellent, I like the Cutter Insect Repellent as well.

Pedicure- Pedicures are essential all year round for the general care of your feet. However, in the summer months, your feet are exposed as many of us like to wear sandals during summer. Give your feet some TLC at the nail salon or even at home. You can grab a few tools from your local drugstore that can be used to give yourself a pedicure at home. The products you see here are just a few of the ones I use at home when I don’t have time to get to the salon.
Revamp your  wardrobe- another thing I like to do in preparation for summer is to revamp my wardrobe. I like to go through my clothes and shoes, see what fits, what doesn’t. Things that I haven’t worn in the past 6 months, I probably won’t ever wear, so I’ll give those away or donate them.  I bought that top from Forever 21 and the bottom from Fashion Nova, I LOVE them both, can’t wait to wear them.
These are all the things I like to do in preparation for summer, what are some things you like to do?
