Just what your hair needs.

Have you ever just felt like something was off with your hair? The way it looks or feels, something just doesn’t seem right. Chances are your hair may be lacking moisture or protein or both. A strand test is a great way to try to figure out what could be wrong. Take a strand of your hair, wet it with water, and then gently stretch it.

Your hair is properly balanced with moisture and protein if: the strand returns to its original length without breaking. A product I’ve been using for over 5 years to maintain my moisture/protein balance is the Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner . This conditioner is a must have for me, once I started using this I’ve never had the slightest desire to try another deep conditioner. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Your hair needs protein if: if the strand stretches more than it should and then break. My ride or die protein treatment is the Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise Treatment. I’ve been using this hair mayo for as long as I can remember. This product was a part of my hair care routine even before I relaxed my hair. I really love the way my hair feels after using the hair mayo. The smell isn’t the greatest but the effect it has on your hair is incredible.

Your hair needs moisture if: the strand doesn’t stretch much. Prior to using this product I usually went for hot oil treatments for moisture. I’ve used Garnier products in the past but they never did anything for my hair so I stopped using them. However, when they recently introduced the whole blends line I decided to give them a shot again. The whole blends line targets various hair issues and has a different formula for each issue. For moisture, the whole blends avocado and shea oil line is bomb. I’ve only tried the Garnier Whole Blends Nourishing Mask with Avocado Oil & Shea Butter Extracts from that line so far, and I had to try the entire jar, purchase another and try it again. This smells SOOOOO amazing I had to make sure I was in love with the product itself and not just the smell (I could really smell this stuff all day). In addition to the heavenly smell of this product the mask gives my hair so much slip; my fingers literally glide through my hair. Seriously Garnier did their thing with this one.

It’s important to know that too much protein or moisture can cause your hair to break as well, so you want to be sure you’re giving your hair only what it needs. I usually do my strand test once a month and treat my hair according to what it needs.

XoXo,
